In this modern era, mental health issues are receiving more attention, especially in the adolescent and early adulthood age groups. Mental health problems such as those often experienced by many individuals are overthinking or the tendency to overthink. Overthinking is the tendency to think about problems or negative experiences repeatedly and often unproductively. Zikr, on the different side, is considered to be able to overcome overthinking with its ability to suppress negative emotions into more positive ones. In the Islamic tradition, zikr is believed to calm the heart, help one to find inner peace, and strengthen spiritual connections. It is clear from the background provided that the objective of this research is to understand how zikr can help people overcome overthinking. Literature or library research employing a qualitative approach and descriptive methodologies is the research methodology used in this study. A literature study is used to gather data, and the content analysis method is utilized to analyze the data. The outcomes of the research reveal that the overthinking behavior is a symptom of excessive thoughts that can be handled with zikr. Zikr provides mental calmness and a spiritual approach to Allah that gives individuals an optimistic attitude. Zikr can nourish the nerves and produce endorphins that provide inner peace and tranquility as well as increase the body's immune system. In terms of respiratory aspects, zikr is associated with mindfulness which focuses on the control of breathing. It also helps to release carbon dioxide from the brain. Zikr can be used as a therapy to overcome low-level mental disorders with a psychoreligious approach if done sincerely and solemnly, as well as absorb it deeply in the heart.
