Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

General Requirements

  1. Manuscripts should be original, research-based, and have not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  2. The journal welcomes scholarly works in the field of Islamic studies and multidisciplinary sciences related to Islam.
  3. Manuscripts must be written in English, in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.
  4. The manuscript length should be 10–20 pages (approximately 4,000–8,000 words) on A4 paper, single-spaced, using Times New Roman, font size 11.

 Title and Author Information

  1. The title should be concise, clear, and informative, with no more than 12–15 words, and should accurately reflect the content of the article.
  2. The title must not contain uncommon abbreviations.
  3. Author names should be written without academic titles or job positions.
  4. Each author must include their institutional affiliation, institutional address, and active email address.

 Abstract and Keywords

  1. Each manuscript must include an abstract in both Indonesian and English.
  2. The abstract should be written in a single paragraph, containing:
    • background,
    • research objective,
    • method,
    • main findings, and
    • conclusion.
  3. The abstract length should be 150–250 words.
  4. Provide 3–5 keywords that reflect the main topics of the article.

 Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should consist of the following sections:

  1. Introduction
  2. Methodology
  3. Findings and Discussion
  4. Conclusion
  5. Suggestion (if applicable)

 Citation and References

  1. All references must follow the Chicago Manual of Style (17th edition), full note system and use Zotero.
  2. Citations should be written in footnotes, not in-text citations.
  3. The first citation of a source must include full details:
    • Author’s full name,
    • Title of the source (in italics),
    • Place of publication,
    • Publisher,
    • Year, and
    • Page number.
      Example:
      John W. Creswell, Research Design: Qualitative, Quantitative, and Mixed Methods Approaches (Los Angeles: Sage Publications, 2018), 45.
  4. Subsequent citations of the same source should include:
    • Author’s last name,
    • Shortened title, and
    • Page number.
      Example:
      Creswell, Research Design, 52.
  5. A reference list must be provided at the end of the manuscript, also formatted according to the Chicago Manual of Style.
