Transplantasi Ginjal Babi Terhadap Pasien Gagal Ginjal Dalam Perspektif Agama Islam

Abstrak

Transplantation of pig kidneys for patients with kidney failure has become a significant topic of discussion within Islamic law. This study explores the permissibility of using pig organs in transplantation under Islamic principles, particularly focusing on the concept of darurat (emergency) which allows for exceptions in life-threatening situations. The research indicates that while many contemporary scholars argue for the permissibility of pig kidney transplantation when no halal alternatives are available, there remains a division of opinion among scholars regarding the ethical and health implications of such practices. Furthermore, advancements in biomedical technology, such as genetic engineering, present potential alternatives that align better with Islamic law. Ethical considerations, including the dignity of both humans and animals, are crucial in this discourse, highlighting the necessity for continuous dialogue among religious scholars, medical practitioners, and the community. Ultimately, this study suggests that while pig kidney transplantation may be permissible under certain circumstances, the development of innovative and halal solutions should be prioritized to ensure adherence to Islamic teachings and ethical standards in healthcare.
