Analisis Dampak Media Sosial Terhadap Lingkungan Sosial dan Keluarga

Abstrak

Social media has a major impact on interpersonal communication and social relationships, especially within families. This study aims to understand how social media affects family dynamics, highlighting the positive and negative impacts that arise. Positive impacts include ease of communication between family members, increased emotional bonds through sharing important moments, organizing family activities, and shared access to educational content. Conversely, negative impacts include dependency, decreased quality of direct interactions, privacy risks, and exposure to age-inappropriate content that can trigger family conflict. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a thematic approach. Data were collected through questionnaires and in-depth interviews with adolescents and young adults aged 16-20 years from various social backgrounds. Analysis was conducted to identify trends in social media use and their perceptions of its impact on social and family interactions. The results of this study are expected to provide insight into the role of social media in shaping patterns of social relationships, family interactions, and the quality of interpersonal communication in the family and community environment.
