Abstract

Policy analysis is closely related to the political system with the content of communication and the use of policy-relevant knowledge being central to the practice and theory of policy analysis. Only knowledge about how the policy-making process occurs is communicated in that process to policy actors who can use this knowledge to improve public policy. A policy analysis methodology is a system of standards, or rules and procedures for creating, critically appraising, and communicating policy-relevant knowledge.

            This article explains the nature and history of public Islamic education policy where the Indonesian Ministry of Religion is the policy holder and UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is the implementer or the policy implication. Starting from agenda preparation, policy formulation, policy adoption, policy implementation and policy assessment.
