Abstract

The issue of Gen Z’s fashion choices in the digital era, especially in Indonesia, is heavily influenced by social media and global trends, which often contrast with Islamic religious norms. Gen Z individuals frequently face a dilemma between expressing their identity through modern fashion and adhering to Islamic dress codes. This study aims to analyze Gen Z's dressing behavior from psychological and Islamic perspectives, aiming to find a balance between self-expression and religious values. The method used is a literature review, examining various sources on dressing behavior, psychological theories, and Islamic teachings on dress ethics. The findings show that Gen Z’s dressing behavior is influenced by identity exploration, the need for social acceptance, and social media influence. From an Islamic perspective, clothing reflects honor and virtue, requiring adherence to Sharia principles. This study suggests a holistic educational approach for communities and educators to support Gen Z in understanding dressing principles that balance modern trends with religious teachings.
